Vexillum is NAVA’s quarterly 32-page full-color magazine devoted to contemporary flag scholarship, current flag news, and information about NAVA and its members (ISSN 2577-5650). Printed copies are mailed to NAVA members as they are released. Digital versions of Vexillum are available to members (with log in) immediately after publication and are open access to the public after two years.
Articles/papers on all vexillological topics are welcome submissions for Vexillum. Article lengths generally range from 300 to 3,000 words. Citations, if used, should be formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style. Either notes or a bibliography is acceptable. If using notes, format them as footnotes, not endnotes. See past issues for the tone and style of Vexillum content. Embed any images within the Word file, and provide images files as separate high-resolution (300 dpi) attachments or provide a list of links to images sourced from webpages.
Vexillum has several regular features, including "New Flags", "Book Reviews", "My Personal Flag", "How I Became Interested in Vexillology", “Commercial Member Spotlight”, “Regional Meetings”; submissions to these are also welcome.
