Raven: A Journal of Vexillology
Raven: A Journal of Vexillology is the premier peer-reviewed journal of vexillological research, published annually by NAVA since 1994 [ISSN 1071-0043 (print) & ISSN 2376-8592 (online)]. Print copies of Raven are mailed to NAVA members as they are published. All articles are online; the most current two years are available to members upon login, and the rest are open access. Selected back issues of the print edition may be purchased in the NAVA Shop; the special book issues are also available on Amazon.com.
Raven welcomes submissions on any topic related to flags (including history, design, use, social and cultural significance, perception, production, collecting, and research methodology) representing perspectives and methods from any relevant discipline or combination of disciplines. Raven papers may investigate flags of any sort (including national, subnational, political, corporate, decorative, artistic, fictional, or speculative) from any part of the world or historical period, including the present day. Raven authors come from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise, professional or amateur.
Please contact the editor at raven@nava.org with questions or ideas for possible submissions. For submission requirements and processes, see Raven—instructions for authors. Papers in Raven are abstracted and indexed by EBSCO in Historical Abstracts and America: History and Life.
